Zion Lutheran Church & School is seeking a capable and dependable leader who wants their daily work to directly support Gospel ministry. This position helps ensure the church and school operate in an organized, safe, and well-stewarded manner so pastors, teachers, and staff can focus on caring for people.
We are intentionally flexible in how this role is structured. The position may be filled by one full-time individual or divided into part-time roles based on the strengths of the applicant God provides.

Position Structure
This is one ministry opportunity that may be configured in one of the following ways:
Full-Time Director of Church Operations Oversees both business and facilities operations
Part-Time Business Operations Role Focus on finance, administration, HR, and systems
Part-Time Facilities Operations Role Focus on campus operations, maintenance, and readiness

This role serves as the primary operational partner to pastoral leadership by ensuring the church and school operate in a safe, organized, and responsible manner.
Healthy operations allow the ministry of Word and Sacrament to happen without distraction.

Depending on the final configuration of the role, responsibilities will include one or more of the following areas.
Help ensure the church’s resources are organized and responsibly managed.
· Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
· Oversee purchasing and vendor relationships
· Support payroll, records, and internal processes
· Maintain policies and documentation
· Coordinate office workflows and communication
Help keep the campus ready, safe, and welcoming for worship, school, and events.
· Monitor building readiness and daily operations
· Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance
· Work with custodial staff and service providers
· Prepare spaces for worship services and activities
· Support event setup and ministry needs
Help protect people, property, and continuity of ministry.
· Coordinate inspections and safety procedures
· Maintain service records and schedules
· Support emergency readiness and response
· Help maintain secure and organized systems
Help leadership make wise and responsible decisions.
· Assist long-term planning and capital needs
· Improve organization and operational systems
· Support ministry initiatives and events
· Provide clear information for leadership decisions
We are seeking a reliable and service-minded individual who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and follows through. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to keep many moving parts organized.
You may be a strong fit if you have experience in areas such as:

· finance, bookkeeping, or budgeting

· military, logistics, or organizational management

Formal titles and degrees are helpful but not required. Demonstrated responsibility, stability, and problem-solving ability matter most.

Salary typically in the $50,000 – $60,000+ range depending on experience and strengths Benefits: health, dental, vision, and school tuition support available
Part-Time Business Operations Role
Approximately 25–30 hours per week Compensation generally $25,000 – $30,000 annually depending on experience
Part-Time Facilities Operations Role
Approximately 25–30 hours per week Compensation generally $25,000 – $30,000 annually depending on experience
Final structure and compensation will be discussed with the selected candidate based on the configuration that best fits the individual’s skills and availability.
